Don't stop believin'!

Moving right along to Friday {May 22nd}... I'm now only a week behind in blogging! Woohoo! Wish I could say the same for scrapbooking. Oh well.

So Friday evening we went to dinner at Rafferty's with a group of 6 girls, and Tayo {pronounced "tie-yo" as in "tie yo shoes," as he introduces himself}. I'm pretty sure he felt/looked like a pimp.

the ride to dinner gave me an amazing hair style

Then Britt & Goley convinced us to come out with them to see a Journey cover band called Chain Reaction. They were pretty good! They had seen them before and were so excited they were coming to Jackson and said we had to come!!! So, we did.

we danced during the slow songs, and everyone was jealous of our amazing dancing abilities.

It was a fun & relatively relaxed night. Afterwards we went back to Sarah's room & watched The Wedding Date and enjoyed food from both Sonic and McDonalds. I am pretty sure I ate enough food for about 12 people this whole day!!! It was slightly ridiculous.

And Graduation is next... check back soon!

Stephaniepalooza!

Last Thursday {the day after my car accident!} I headed back to TN. I got to Jackson around 6:00, and we left for Memphis {an hour from Jackson} around 7. Actually, I think it ended up being later, but 7:00 was the planned departure time....so I was nervous having only an hour window in case there was major traffic or something, but I made it!

Anyway... we headed to Memphis to go to Beale Street to celebrate Stephanie's birthday!!!!

Memphis 007

On the way there we decided to do my nails... problem was, the nail polish was pretty much gone AND it was dark. So it looked like a little kid did them..

Memphis 009

What do you think? Nice, huh?! haha
{I took the nail polish off once we got to MJ's house}

me & the birthday girl!

It was Stephanie's 22nd birthday celebration, as well as a graduation celebration, kind of a goodbye party...and all kinds of things in one.

It was fun! We had dinner at Silky O'Sullivans, where we met a new friend a drunk man came and sat our table, and we saw a wizard! And that was only our first stop for the night.

Memphis 047

Memphis 020

After that we went to a few different places and saw a horse & carriage with sparkly lights all over it that we decided was Stephanie's future "pimpmobile", we also went to Wet Willies where it was karaoke night.. but we were the only group of white girls, so we didn't really fit in like we do at Cocobay! ha

Memphis 023

My BIG came and I was so excited!!!! I love her!

All of us on Beale Street... MJ, Laura, Stephanie, me, Kristen, and Katy

Afterwards we spent the night at MJ's and then headed back to Jackson bright & early since Steph and Katy had to be back for some graduation stuff!

There are tons more pictures, but I just haven't had time to edit & upload them... hopefully soon!

More posts coming soon.... phew!

Surprise, Surprise! TN again {Part 1}

Okay....let me take you back to May 14th. That's the last time I've really updated my blog.

So, let's start there. That night I spent the night with Mia... and we survived! Hooray! The next day I went straight to TN. I think I got there around 9:00ish in the evening. Sometime that night, we had a dance party in the middle of the quad at the dorms. It was a pretty happenin' dance party!

Jackson 018

Jackson 023

Jackson 034

It consisted of me, Kristen, Angela {AKA Pat Pat}, Bridget, and Jared, and our music came from Pat Pat's cell phone. It was pretty much awesome.

The next night we went out for karaoke and go karts!!!

Jackson 043

I had been waiting to ride go karts allll day long... and we were EXCITED!!!!

Jackson 047

Jackson 046

But they were closed! And we were sad. They told us they closed at 1:30am, so we went at 1... but they were already closed! Losers.

Next day. Since it was the weekend before finals, we spent most of the next day at The Emma AKA the school library. But don't think it was all boring... we actually had a pretty good time!

the emma 0514833638251 the emma 055

we studied with Allen and gossiped told him about our other friends on the baseball team... we formed the circle of trust, but decided it was more like a triangle.

the emma 059

we became best friends with Josh and Alex.. who are also best friends! they are precious and crazy!!

the emma 026

and of course, we played Apples to Apples during a study break. Duh.

{ok, well I wasn't studying since I've been done with school for a few weeks now.. but everyone else was...}

We were in the library until like...2am or something. And the next day I came home... for a whole 3 days.

Then as I was gearing up for my trip BACK to TN, I went to the gas station to get gas on Wednesday evening so I wouldn't have to worry about it before I left on Thursday. And on my way home from getting the gas, this happened:

It was my first accident ever! I've never even been pulled over before, so I had no idea what to do! But it all worked out.

And have no fear! We got a rental car early Thursday morning and I was still able to leave right on time for TN Thursday afternoon. And that brings us up to this past weekend!

To be continued....

Skipping through a field of sunflowers....

...that's how Kristen said she felt after yoga last night!

Yesterday Kristen and I went to a yoga class!! Actually, I think it is a yoga/pilates class, but I'm not really sure what the difference between the two is.. but anyway... it was my first ever group class at the gym!

If you follow me on twitter, you probably saw that we were a little nervous before the class started:

...this is because neither of us are very flexible or have good balance, and we were afraid the instructor was going to make you be really quiet and... we're not very quiet! I don't know.. when I think of yoga, I just think of being quiet.

But it was fun! I think we both liked it & did better at it than we thought we would! I'm excited about going every week because it's supposed to improve flexibilty and balance, as well as reduce stress, help you focus better, and reduce low back problems {which I already have!} So yay!

We also took a little nap at the end, which was pretty exciting! Seriously.. the instructor had us lay on our mats and she shut off the lights! I felt like I was in preschool again... in a good way :)

I also went through the schedule of group classes and made us a little work out schedule. Here's what we're gonna do:

  • Monday: Hip Hop Cardio class from 6:30-7:20, then yoga from 7:30-8:30

  • Tuesday: Spinning class from 6:30-7:30, then yoga from 7:30-8:30

  • Wednesday: Gutts & Butts from 5:00-5:25, then regular work out OR Spinning from 6:30-7:20, then yoga from 7:30-8:30

  • Thursday: Spinning from 5:30-6:30 OR Step class from 6:30-7:30

  • Friday: Spinning from 5:30-6:30

  • Saturday: yoga from 12:00-1:00

  • Sunday: yoga from 12:00-1:00, then either Spinning or Kickboxing from 1:00-2:00

I think if we do all of this, it should whip us into shape!!!! We probably won't go every single day, but I'm going to aim for at least 5 days a week, depending on what else is going on. My theory is that I've been going to the gym since the beginning of March, so a little less than 3 months now, and all I usually do is about 30-45 minutes on the elliptical and then sometimes I do the weight circuit & ab coaster.. 3x a week... and I've already seen good results. So I'm thinking if I increase my time AT the gym as well as how many times I actually go to the gym each week... that should be awesome, right?! I'm pretty excited about it! I like group classes a lot better than I thought I would {you know...after the one I've been to}..

So we'll see... I'll keep you posted! We were going to try out the Spinning class tonight, but I'm babysitting until 10pm, so I think it'll have to wait til tomorrow. Oh well.. maybe I can blog about the past 2 weekends finally after Mia goes to bed tonight!

so much to do, so little time!

You would think that now that school is out, I'd have more time to blog. I thought so, too... but apparently I was wrong. I've been super busy the past couple of months! Not that I'm complaining... I love being busy and having things to do! It gives me lots of things to blog about, but then I don't have time to actually sit down and write about it... especially since when you put me and my friends together we take about a million pictures at everything we go to.... and that takes forever to go through and organize!!!

So anyway... here's a glimpse at what I'll {hopefully} be writing about soon:

{from top left to right, bottom left to right} ---
1. Last weekend {May 16th, 17th, & 18th} in Jackson. We had a dance party! Late at night in the middle of the quad between the dorms. It was awesome!
2. This past weekend, we went to Memphis to Beale Street for Stephanie's 22nd birthday!
3. Of course... graduation!
4. And finally, the graduation after party! We rode go karts!!!

And that's just a little bit of what I've been up to the past two weekends.

I've been out of school for almost a month now, but I just now feel like summer vacation is starting. Not sure why. I guess because Union is finally out of school now, and Kristen is living with me this summer! Or at least she'll be here a lot.

Our plans for the summer include: working out {we are going to start a yoga class today!}, roadtrip with a few friends to Washington, D.C. in June, white water rafting for my birthday in July {or sky diving... which I'm all for, but I don't think anyone but Kristen would go with me!!}, and going to Florida at the end of July!

I can't wait!!!!

Bring on summer!!!!!!

Friendship Never Ends

Here's a video I made last night from the last few weekends I've spent in Tennessee. We picked the song "If You Wanna Be My Lover" by the Spice Girls (HECK YEAH!!! haha) after Steph, Karyne and Kristen sang it at karaoke one night! Plus.. it just kind of describes us all perfectly.

I'm so thankful for these people in my life. We always have so much fun together, but I also know when I'm having a hard time they'll be there to pick me up. I can't even tell you how happy I've been since we've all been hanging out a lot more recently... I've also been more broke and added hundreds of miles to my car, but it's been worth it :) It's going to be weird not going to TN every (or every other) weekend now that school is out & people have graduated... thank goodness Kristen is living with me this summer and we all have plans together throughout the next few months...

I'll add pictures & write about the last few weekends soon! But for now I'm off to have lunch and watch The Bachelorette from last week with my mom! Happy Memorial Day! :)

BRB

Man, I am so behind!!! I will try to get a post up soon before I leave again on Thursday!!!! But I can't make any promises. However, this will be my last trip for awhile... at least until some time in June when I go to to D.C.! So life should calm down for a bit and I should be able to get caught up and update more regularly....

Stay tuned! :)

Sleepover Party!

I've been up since about 5:45 this morning because a certain little dog can't sleep during storms!!!! Which is highly unfortunate because storms usually help me sleep better. But when Tobey is in my room, all bets are off. He shakes and cries and paws at your face. It's not cute at 6am.

So at like 6:30 I finally decided to just get up and get some things done. Or rather, catch up on some blogs and update mine really quick. Technically I'm still in bed and haven't actually done anything productive. So here's what's going on with me...

mia

Tonight I'm spending the night with Mia. Her mom is going out of town, so it's just gonna be me, the munchkin, and of course the animals "Scooby" {their dog} and Trouble {the cat}... and I think my mom might come and at least visit because she's off tomorrow. I'll be there until tomorrow evening, or roughly 24 hours straight. It should be fun though! Mia is usually a really good baby, and if not, it will be good practice for the future. haha

Then tomorrow I'm leaving straight from their house for Tennessee! This is my last weekend to see a lot of my friends before they leave for summer. I'm also going to see the little boy {Joshua} that I used to babysit and his family before they leave for England for a few months. I haven't seen them since last summer, so it will be nice to catch up with them!

So... it will be another Tennessee weekend, as will next weekend {next weekend is graduation} but that will probably be my last trip for awhile. We'll see.

Alright, time to get up and start packing! It's still a whole hour before my alarm is set to go off, so I am way on top of things today!!

My totally awesome Mom! :)

glass half full?

For Mother's Day, I got my mom this awesome card. It describes her perfectly! :) I also got her an awesome coffee maker, which she totally loves because she's a coffee-addict!

Mom washing the car

washing the car

We also washed her car together.... AFTER I went to the grocery for her! :) And then I made dinner!

But really... that isn't even much compared to what all she does...and even what she did today! She worked in the yard all day while I went to the grocery, and then she came inside and cleaned and did laundry. She loves doing that, so it's not a huge deal, but still...I am thankful for it :)

My mom works so hard all the time! And I love her so much!!! And I'm so thankful for everything she does for me and that she's always there for me. We're super close and I'm really grateful for the close relationship we have!

Tobers

Tobey loves her, too!!!

Happy Mother's Day, Mom!!! I love you so much!!!!

Happy Mother's Day

Go love your Mom today! :)
