4th of july weekend -- part 1

It's officially past July 2nd so you know what that means... IT'S MY BIRTHDAY WEEK!!! Typically I only celebrate for a week, but I'm lucky this year because we are celebrating my birthday along with Josh's sisters birthdays which are July 16th and August 3rd... so I get to extend my birthday celebrations to a whole month!! Let the celebrations begin! (and let's not talk about the fact that I'll probably spend a good portion of this weekend studying... )

We kicked off the month with my favorite summertime holiday -- the 4th of July, obvs. And I crossed a couple things off my list.

#4 and #11 specifically.

We started the weekend off at the farm.

Kosmo was scared of being on the dock and would not let his paw leave Josh's leg

It was a relaxing day spent with Josh's family --

swimming

grilling out

playing fetch with the dogs

napping in the sun

For dinner, Josh and I crossed off #4 -- go on a picnic -- and ate dinner on the ground lakeside. We didn't have a picnic basket but we had some Subway and Jones Soda so it was perfect.

Then we decided, somewhat last minute, to cross off #11 -- go camping -- and extend our fun at the farm and stay overnight!

We had a brand new, waterproof (which would come in handy later) tent thanks to Mandy and Joe!

Once dusk rolled around, this rolled in..

Just my luck! EVERY single time I've gone camping something bad happens. Storms.. one year it flooded.. one year it snowed. At least this time I had my B, even if we didn't have sleeping bags or anything soft to sleep on due to our last-minute decision to camp.

The wind was totally crazy and blew our tent all around! The sides kept blowing in on Josh!

Luckily our little waterproof tent stood up great to the wind & rain and we made it to morning nice & dry... albeit with stiff backs ;)

And that brings us up to Monday morning!
