Half Marathon Training Update

So anyway, the half marathon is 16 weeks away from yesterday {APRIL 24th!} and I've decided that I'm going to start doing weekly posts about my training. Technically, I have been "training" for it for a little bit now and posting updates but I want to start keeping a more deliberate log of my running. I've been reading some running magazines and they say it's a good idea to keep track of stuff like the weather, what you wore, how much you run, etc etc... So, I'm going to post a re-cap of my training at the end of each week. If you're not interested in reading about my running/training, feel free to skip those posts. It won't hurt my feelings... they'll be the ones labeled "half marathon training update" :)

I've also been thinking that I should probably quit procrastinating and go ahead and sign up for the dang thing. The half marathon I mean. No, I haven't signed up yet. Don't judge me :-p

Anyway... this is the last week before school starts back, and I'm kind of dreading it. Not the classes/homework, but the schedule. 2 of my 3 classes are in the evenings, which I hate and wouldn't prefer but it's the only time they're offered. This means I won't be able to go to my evening gym classes... more specifically my favorite Crosstrain class. So I'm going to have to adjust my schedule to fit in gym time and runs... in other words, I'm going to have to get my lazy butt out of bed and start going back to the gym at 5:30am. I won't exactly love it, but one of my new mottos for 2010 is...

"NO ONE CAN ACCOMPLISH YOUR GOALS BUT YOU!"

...and most of the time accomplishing goals means hard work and sacrifice... which in my case might mean getting up early.

So anyway, this is my exercise schedule for this week:
Monday - guts & butts class {core workout}, spin class, yoga
Tuesday - speed run, Crosstrain, weight training, yoga
Wednesday- guts & butts, spin, yoga
Thursday - tempo run, weight training
Friday - rest
Saturday - yoga
Sunday - long run

I suppose once school starts it won't be that different... the only difference is the classes will be at 5:30am instead of 5:30pm and I won't be able to do any guts & butts or cross training.

On that note, I suppose I'm off to do my 7 mile long run... the only thing holding me back is the fact that it's 18 degrees outside.. but feels like 8!!!!
