Christmas, Tea, & Ghosts

It's raining. It's been raining for two days and it's supposed to rain for two more. If it was colder we'd be in the midst of a huge snow storm. Thank goodness for global warming ;) (JUST KIDDING, y'all...)

Yesterday I got off work early and had the brilliant idea to run to Trader Joe's and Whole Foods (because they're somewhat close to work but not that close to home so I don't go over there as much as I'd like and I thought since I had a little extra time I'd just stop in real quick..)

Turns out that was the worst idea I'd had in awhile. It took 2 hours! And I was only getting a couple things at each place. Pouring down rain + traffic = awful combination.

But this little can made it all worth it:

Thank you Trader Joe's. What a delicious find :)

And out of a cute penguin mug?! Even better!

I mentioned in my last post that we already had Christmas with my family. 'Tis true. While we used to celebrate together on Christmas Day, early December (or November in last year's case) is our new Christmas. It's just easier this way now that we're all growed up and starting our own families.

So last weekend we headed north to celebrate Christmas! What better way to kick off December?!

We played games (Loaded Questions, Catch Phrase, & of course Dominoes! -- it's a tradition!)

Eric insisted we bring Grandma out for Dominoes... it was her favorite! :)

I totally smoked everybody!! I got stuck with the double blank piece FOUR times!!!! If you've ever played Dominoes, you know that's an automatic 50 points... and the goal is to get the least amount of points as possible. After the 2nd time I got it I knew there was no chance of winning so I made it my personal goal to get the most points! And I totally did!

Then it was present time!

We drew names this year which made things easier. It was fun to be able to put a lot of thought into a gift for one person as opposed to having to buy a bunch of gifts! We're all old enough now that we can just buy something if we want it, so we usually end up just getting each other gift cards anyway. So I liked the name-swap! Brad had Eric and he got him a remote-controlled helicopter! He was like a little kid again! It was hilarious!!!

The Eric Face. I need to work on it.

Over all, another wonderful Christmas in the books.

Love these people.

P.S. If you follow me on Twitter or Instagram, you may have seen me mention that my brother was on an episode of A&E Bio's My Ghost Story last night! It was pretty cool to see him on TV! He was on this episode (he starts around the 9:45 mark):
