Hawaii! Part 3: Fern Grotto & The Wailua Trail

The next day we went on a river cruise to the Fern Grotto. At first I had no idea what it was and wasn't really interested, but it was only $20 and the whole thing only lasted about an hour. And it was pretty cool.

We took about a 15 minute boat ride up the river, there was a band and hula dancers on the boat for entertainment, then got off, took a small hike through the rain forest, then ended up at the Fern Grotto. It's a dried up waterfall and cave where ferns now grow upside down. And, as per the usual in Hawaii, the views everywhere were gorgeous!

Don't worry, we made it out alive...

Josh missed the river cruise portion because he was lame and wanted to hang out by himself at the condo and read his book but we picked him up before we continued on the trail by car...

I don't have much more to say about the Wailua Trail because I honestly barely remember driving it. I just remember that it was beautiful and these pictures don't do it justice.

I'll be back with more Kauai soon.. :)
